In 1886, Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church was established in San Saba, Texas, by the Rt. Rev. R.W.B. Elliott, Bishop of West Texas. In 1896, Mr. N.D. Lidstone, Senior Warden, donated the block of land on which the present church now stands. Of the county churches still in use, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church remains one of the oldest.
